Star worth £34.5 million is waiting for a Liverpool offer as the first option is soon to expire, according to a report

Liverpool has received attention as Marco Asensio looks to leave Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The Spanish international is wanted by AC Milan, but AS reported last month that the Italian club is unable to pay the £34.5 million transfer fee or the associated wages. However, Liverpool has made him a sizable contract offer.

According to the most recent information from Sport Today (see news image below), the 26-year-old attacker has not reacted to the Los Blancos’ request for a contract extension, and his future is not at the Bernabeu.

According to the Catalan source, Asensio’s first option is to join Italian champions AC Milan.

However, due to manager Stefano Pioli’s desire for the Rossoneri to sign Azzurri player Domenico Berardi from the option is likely to expire.

Asensio is reportedly waiting for the Liverpool offer to materialize, according to Sport. Along with the Merseysiders, clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Juventus are all hoping to sign the player.

The La Roja star spent the majority of his time warming the bench under Zinedine Zidane’s leadership over the years, and last season he was unable to secure a regular starting position under Carlo Ancelotti.

He wasn’t selected by Luis Enrique for the European Championships last year, and if he doesn’t play regularly for the first team, he might not be picked for the World Cup either.

Asensio has the talent and experience to bolster the offensive, and Liverpool does need to improve the depth in the wide attacking positions. The former Mallorca loanee would not, however, be a certain starter even at Anfield.
