Despite signing no less than four players in the month of July, FC Barcelona are not done with their market activity just yet.

As a matter of fact, the Catalans are about to experience their most important week ahead as they look to offload their fringe players in order to make way for new ones.

Two Barcelona players in Oscar Mingueza and Neto are already close to leaving Camp Nou, but the club ideally want to offload Frenkie de Jong, as he is sitting on a lucrative salary and his exit could help the club generate significant revenue.

According to Alex Pintanel, de Jong’s potential sale could allow Barcelona to sign up to three more players ahead of the new season. The three players in question are Cesar Azpilicueta, Bernardo Silva and an unnamed left-back.

Azpilicueta had been a target for Barcelona for quite some time now, with the club currently in the market for a right-back that can compete with Sergino Dest.

Bernardo Silva, on the other hand, has been identified as the direct replacement for de Jong. It was recently reported that Manchester City are open to the sale of the Portuguese international and could offload him for a fee of around €80 million this summer.

As for the left-back, Xavi is looking for someone who can deputise Jordi Alba in the years to come. Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso was the desired option for the Barça manager, although the club are open to signing Johan Mojica of Elche.

However, Barcelona have not had much luck sanctioning the sale of Frenkie de Jong. The midfielder has resisted all attempts to lure him away from Camp Nou, having already rejected Manchester United a number of times.

Chelsea are considering a late move for the Dutchman, but their pursuit of the Barcelona star is dependent on the future of N’Golo Kante.
