Memphis Depay to Tottenham Hotspur is a possibility in the near future.

Juventus appeared to be on the verge of signing the Dutchman on a free transfer from Barcelona, with Fabrizio Romano revealing last weekend that an agreement had been reached to terminate his contract at Camp Nou.

Tottenham had made contact with the Netherlands international about coming to North London, according to reports from Italy on August 11.

Earlier this week, there were rumors that he would not be joining the Serie A club, which Romano has now confirmed emphatically.

According to the Italian journalist, his transfer to Turin has ‘definitely collapsed,’ bolstering Spurs’ claim on the former Manchester United winger, who is now clearly desired by the Red Devils as well.

MEMPHIS DEPAY TO TOTTENHAM?

Depay can play anywhere across the front three and it was reported by Ryan Taylor on Thursday [Give Me Sport] that the Lilywhites would ‘definitely’ be signing another winger before September if Bryan Gil leaves Hotspur Way, which is looking likely.

Whether Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici bring in Depay – who has a £200,000 per week offer from a mystery London club – remains to be seen.

However, in light of Romano’s update on Thursday, the potential destinations are certainly dwindling and maybe, just maybe, a stint in North London is becoming a lot more realistic.
