Erling Haaland’s ‘private chat’ with Jude Bellingham revealed amid Liverpool transfer talks

The battle for the future of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has already begun, with Erling Haaland hoping to persuade the midfielder to join him at Manchester City.

According to reports, Erling Haaland has urged former Borussia Dortmund teammate Jude Bellingham to join him at Manchester City.

After two and a half years in Germany, the Norwegian goalscoring sensation signed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions. Two of those seasons saw Haaland team up with Bellingham, who joined the Bundesliga side from Birmingham City in the summer of 2020.

Following a breakout season with the Blues, Bellingham was one of Europe’s most sought-after prospects. The 19-year-old was courted by a number of high-profile clubs, but Dortmund emerged victorious – with a similar transfer saga likely to unfold next year. According to Mirror Football, Real Madrid is becoming increasingly confident in structuring a deal to sign Bellingham in 2023.

Liverpool has previously been linked with an interest in Bellingham, while Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in the England international. According to reports, the midfielder could be available for £83 million next summer, attracting interest from a number of top clubs.

Real Madrid may be leading the race, but Bellingham’s future remains uncertain, with Dortmund still hoping to extend the player’s contract. He is already under contract with Dortmund until 2025, so there is no pressing need for Dortmund to sell, though they will respect the England star’s wishes.

As reported by CBS Sports, Liverpool and City have put in more legwork for a deal to sign the teenager than either United or Chelsea – whose interest is at a more primitive stage. Indeed, Haaland is already said to have told the midfielder to link up with him in English football at the Etihad.

The two combined at Dortmund for two seasons and the prospect of them once again joining forces at City is a mouth-watering prospect. They have remained close friends off the pitch and have remained in touch since the Norwegian striker’s summer transfer switch.

Indeed, the two players shared a close embrace after the Champions League group stage match between the sides in Manchester earlier this month. Bellingham was heard to say ‘F*** sake mate,’ in friendly exasperation after the striker won the game late on for City.

Bellingham starred once again in that clash for Dortmund and has only served to increase speculation regarding his future. The race to secure his signature has already begun.
