The latest Leicester City news as the Zambian was on the scoresheet with an audacious flick in the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Leicester City striker Patson Daka has stated that in order to make the most of ‘exceptional’ James Maddison’s service, he must be constantly switched on.

The City midfielder scored twice in City’s 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Monday night. He then turned provider in the second half, with Daka flicking in his ball across the box to cap off a memorable night for the club.

After a disappointing start to the season for both sides, City knew that a win would propel them above their East Midlands rivals in the Premier League table. Following the game, Daka provided an insight into the locker room and why the team was so determined to kick off their season against Steve Cooper’s side.

“It’s good, but I wouldn’t say we’re over the moon because this is just the first step to what we want to achieve,” he told LCFCTV. “It was an amazing night, especially for the fans, we really wanted to do it for them because we know how important it is.

“It was more than just a game; it was about the City, and just the feeling of the fans winning.”

Unlike the previous two games, in which City quickly surrendered early leads, Maddison’s opener was quickly followed by a second. Harvey Barnes’ goal came 90 seconds after City had opened the scoring, and it set the tone for the rest of the game.

“We had a great start and then getting the goal, it made it even more amazing and then in a split second again we got another goal,” Daka added. “That just gave us the feeling of setting the tempo of the game and we destroyed them.”

Maddison was the player who made the headline with his display in both creating and scoring goals. Daka outlined what it is like to play with the midfielder when he is showing the form that he is.

“It’s amazing to play with everyone here at the club, every player carries a special individual brilliance which they bring to the team and contribute,” he added. “James Maddison is one of them, he’s an exceptional player we know how talented he is.

“It’s a good feeling to play alongside him because you know that at any given point he can surprise you with the ball, so you have to be ready every time.”
