Ryan Sessegnon has been singled out for praise by Antonio Conte for his progress at Tottenham Hotspur.
Sessegnon joined Spurs for £20 million in the summer of 2019 during Mauricio Pochettino’s reign.
However, the former Fulham starlet is only now a regular at Tottenham.
Conte appears to have succeeded where Pochettino and Jose Mourinho failed in getting the best out of their players, though it is worth noting that he is a much more experienced player now following a loan spell in Germany a couple of years ago.
The 22-year-old impressed once more on Saturday, as the North Londoners won 1-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion.
And here’s what Conte told Tottenham’s official website after the game.
He said: “Sessegnon played a really good game, he showed that he is a reliable player, he’s a really young player but he’s improving a lot.”
It has taken a while as mentioned, but it’s great to see that Sessegnon is finally blossoming into a major player for Tottenham.
There was no shortage of speculation about him joining the Lilywhites for a couple of years prior to his actual move.
And for quite a while it didn’t look like he would be worth the wait but, as Conte pointed out, the player is definitely improving, and at 22, there’s surely a lot more to come from him.
