Leicester City will ‘rue’ a key absence against Leeds, according to Chris Sutton.

Chris Sutton previews Leicester City’s crucial Premier League match against Leeds in the latest Leicester City news.

BBC pundit Chris Sutton says that James Maddison’s suspension “could cost” Leicester City dearly against Leeds United on Thursday night, which kicks off at the unusual time of 8.15pm.

The midfielder received a booking for a blatant dive deep into injury time of their goalless draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend. As it was his fifth booking of the season he now misses the midweek clash with the Whites.

Maddison has been the standout performer for City so far this season, contributing five goals and two assists. Sutton believes his absence will tip the balance heavily in Leeds’ favour when they face each other at the King Power Stadium, predicting a 4-1 away win.

“Leicester are without the hugely influential James Maddison, who is suspended after he was booked for his late dive against Crystal Palace. He will rue that dive, because it could cost his team here,” the former Blackburn Rovers striker told the BBC.

Leeds have not got the results their play has deserved on a few occasions this season, including their defeat to Arsenal at the weekend when they played with great intensity. This is where all of that changes, because I am backing them to get a break or two at King Power Stadium.

“Leeds manager Jesse Marsch talks his team up in defeat like no other manager – if you listened to him, you’d think they’d won every game – but I like their playing style, and it deserves more credit.”
