Liverpool make contact with midfielder’s staff – Reds ready for second blow after failed summer attempt

It seems Liverpool remains strong in the pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer.

The Reds’ summer attempt to sign the player was not only reported by German media but also confirmed by the 25-year-old himself, who admitted he is a fan of the Anfield club.

Laimer’s contract with RB Leipzig expires at the end of the season, and with that possibility presented as a good opportunity for Liverpool, the Reds appear to be insistent on bringing him to Merseyside.

An update from Bild journalist Christian Falk claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side has made contact with the midfielder’s staff, who are also the agents of Naby Keita.

The story, however, points out that Liverpool isn’t alone in the competition. Firstly, because Chelsea is also trying to take him to England, and the two Premier League rivals may struggle with competition from Bayern Munich, who are said to be ‘leading the race’.

With Laimer being able to walk from Leipzig for free, it’s just a matter of who’ll make the most attractive option to the player before the end of the season, or try to anticipate a deal with the Bundesliga side in January.
