Two Leicester City players will return at Wolves, but Jonny Evans’ injury remains a concern.

Jonny Evans is questionable to play against the Wolves as he recovers from a calf injury.

The Leicester City captain has missed the last two games due to the issue, and while he is due back in training today, it is unclear whether he will be ready for the trip to Molineux. As things stand, Daniel Amartey appears to be keeping his place in the backline, with City looking for their third straight clean sheet on Sunday.

Asked if Evans would be fit for the Midlands match-up, City boss Brendan Rodgers said: “We’ll see. We think he’ll be out on the pitch [on Friday]. It might be too soon for him at the weekend, but we’ll see.”

However, City is expected to welcome back at least two other players. James Maddison returns from a one-game suspension, while Marc Albrighton, who missed the game against Leeds, is expected to play this weekend.

“He was off sick,” Rodgers explained about his vice-captain. “He’s been sick for a couple of days. I saw him this morning [Thursday], and he seemed much better. He should be back in training and ready for the weekend.”

Wilfred Ndidi is expected to miss the game against Manchester City due to a hamstring injury, but he could return next week if he follows Rodgers’ schedule. Ricardo Pereira (Achilles) and Ryan Bertrand (knee) are out for an extended period of time.
