With his contract at Borussia Dortmund set to expire next summer, Ilkay Gundogan has discussed joining Liverpool in order to reunite with former manager Jurgen Klopp after their storied time together at the club.

Gundogan on linking up with Klopp once again at Anfield
When quizzed about whether he could reunite with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool amidst uncertainties surrounding his contract situation at City, Ilkay Gundogan flat-out rejected any such possibilities.
“I think I can rule out that”, he told Kicker.
“Everyone knows how much I like and appreciate Klopp but I’ve been at City for a few years now and as City captain to rival Liverpool? No, I can’t imagine that.
”While Ilkay Gundogan would certainly be a smashing success if he played under Jurgen Klopp once again at Liverpool, his loyalty to Manchester City remains unshakeable.
