Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing a £34 million attacker whom Harry Kane regards as a “great player.”

Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with a move for A.S. Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who Harry Kane regards as a ‘great player.’

Spurs will look to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad in January following a difficult run of form prior to the World Cup.

The Italian has been slightly short on attacking options in recent weeks, with Richarlison, Heung-Min Son, and Dejan Kulusevski all suffering injuries.

Kane has been forced to start in every single game for Spurs this season due to Conte lacking a real backup option for the England captain.

But they are seemingly looking to solve this issue, with Corriere dello Sport claiming that Tottenham wants Roma’s Tammy Abraham.

The report notes that Abraham isn’t considering a January exit but he will be able to leave Jose Mournho’s side next summer.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a brilliant debut season in Italy last year, scoring 27 goals in all competitions.

His form has dipped this season and he has only managed to get on the scoresheet four times in 20 appearances.

But Kane is certainly a big fan of the former Chelsea man and was full of praise for the striker when he spoke to TalkSPORT back in June.

Kane on Abraham

“I think that Tammy is a great player,” he said.

“He’s had a fantastic season at club level, he’s still learning and has the experience to gain but every time he comes here he works hard and trains hard.

“He wants to impress the manager, he wants to score goals and of course, it’s great to have competition in every position, and in the Premier League, we have some great English strikers who are scoring goals on a regular basis.

“Tammy is doing that for Roma as well so he’s a great player and I’m sure he’ll want to keep improving, keep working hard and that’s what he’ll try and do in this camp and going back to club level as well.”

Abraham’s £34 million switch to Roma from Chelsea last summer has largely been a successful move, despite his struggles this season.

Spurs are in need of a quality option to take some of the burdens from Kane’s shoulders and Abraham could provide this.

But as Conte’s men have found in the past, it’s a difficult gig to sell and it’s unclear whether Abraham would be willing to play a backup role to Kane.
