According to reports, a Spanish club is now interested in Tottenham Hotspur. Conte does not want a man who has barely played this season.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte made it clear how he envisioned his squad this summer.

Spurs brought in a number of key players, including Richarlison and Ivan Perisic.

On the other hand, a report from Estadio Deportivo has provided an update on a player Conte was desperate to get rid of.

The Italian manager made it clear in the summer that a number of players were surplus to requirements.

Tottenham’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele ended up going to Napoli on loan.

Giovani Lo Celso was another player allowed to leave by Conte, and he joined Villarreal on a temporary basis.

Harry Winks was replaced by Yves Bissouma and followed Ndombele to Italy, however, his loan spell has been a disaster.

Finally, Conte allowed left-back Sergio Reguilon to leave the club, as he joined Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on loan.

Like Winks, injury has seriously hampered his time away from Spurs, managing only 21 minutes of football this season.

And Estadio Deportivo now believes that Real Socided wants to sign Reguilon in January.

Real Sociedad want Reguilon in January

The report suggests that Atleti is considering sending Reguilon back to Tottenham in January as his loan hasn’t panned out as expected.

However, Real Sociedad is keen to take over the loan obligations from Diego Simeone’s side for the rest of the season.

Reguilon had a number of Premier League admirers in the summer before eventually settling on a move to Spain.

The wing-back is a quality player and looked brilliant when he first arrived in north London.

However, he never really settled into Antonio Conte’s side.

Once Perisic arrived at Spurs he knew his minutes would be limited.

Reguilon would be competing for minutes with former Bournemouth defender Diego Rico if he were to sign for Real Sociedad.

A permanent move away from Tottenham has to be on his mind for the summer.

He needs to prove his worth in the second half of the season to make that happen.

Whether the two Spanish sides can negotiate what would like to be a complicated deal is yet to be seen.

Whatever happens, Reguilon should be fully fit when the season restarts, giving him plenty more opportunities to impress wherever he’s playing.
