Leicester City to drop asking price as January transfer ‘increasingly probable’

Due to a lack of minutes this season, the Leicester City midfielder has missed out on a World Cup appearance for Belgium and may look to make amends elsewhere during the January transfer window.

A return to Torino for Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet is reported ‘increasingly probable’ in the January transfer window.

The 15-cap Belgium international has not been a regular since staying at City this summer, making just nine appearances, only two of which have been starts in the Premier League. A lack of football can only have contributed to the player not being called up by manager Roberto Martínez for the World Cup, having played a part at the European Championship last summer.

Heading into that tournament, Praet made 24 appearances back in Italy with Torino during what was ultimately an injury-hit loan. A second spell in Turin now looks ‘more and more likely as the new year approaches.

Calciomercato.com (via Sport Witness) claims that the club’s sporting director Davide Vagnati has already been working with Leicester and the player’s representatives for some time in search of an agreement ahead of the winter window. The report adds that any deal would likely be a loan move, either with an option or obligation to buy and at a lower sum than the previous asking price of €15 million. Tuttosport has previously reported that the few could be halved to as low as €6-7m.
