Man United is prepared to agree to a fee of £51.4 million for signing – Report

If media reports are to be believed, Manchester United is interested in signing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

The Spanish international, who made his La Roja debut last year, has signed a new contract with the La Liga club until 2027, with a £ 51.4 million release clause.

AS – Manchester United positioned themselves to agree to an £86 million fee for signing

According to a recent AS (via SW) report, Manchester United is willing to pay the £ 51.4 million fee to sign the midfielder.

The Madrid-based news source has mentioned that Barcelona is also looking to sign the player and Sociedad is hoping to hold on to their prized asset.

However, Los Txuri-Urdin will not be able to do anything if the player’s 60 million euros release clause is activated.

The 23-year-old starlet is mainly a defensive midfielder. He has already made over 100 appearances for the Spanish side and in 2019-20, he was a key member of the squad that won the Copa Del Rey.

As far as the current campaign is concerned, so far, the young play breaker has made 14 appearances in the league, scored a goal, and provided a couple of assists.

At Old Trafford, our main defensive midfielder is none other than marquee summer signing, Casemiro. The Brazilian international is one of the best and most decorated holding midfielders in the world.

We paid a lot of cash to sign him in the summer transfer window from Real Madrid and in all fairness, Ten Hag really does not need to sign another DM. Therefore, we should not move in for Martin Zubimendi.

It must be remembered that we are yet to replace Paul Pogba at the club. So, the Dutch coach should splash the cash and sign a creative center midfielder in the January transfer window. What do you think?
