According to German publication BILD, Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, while AC Milan is also keen on the 22-year-old.

Torres signed for Barça less than a year ago, having joined from Manchester City in the January transfer window in a deal worth €55 million.

While he has shown glimpses of his immense talent and potential, the former Valencia ace has been unable to nail down a regular spot in the starting XI. He has also been criticized for his failure to finish off chances.

In total, Torres has made 44 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 12 goals and setting up seven more. He also netted two goals in four matches for Spain at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar before La Roja was eliminated by Morocco.

The 22-year-old is behind the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, and Raphinha in the pecking order at Spotify Camp Nou. That, coupled with Barcelona’s financial situation, has led to clubs looking at a January swoop for him.

And as per the aforementioned report, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and v have shown an interest in Torres.

Arsenal has lost Gabriel Jesus to an injury and is in the market for reinforcements, with Torres reportedly emerging as an option. However, they will have competition from local rivals Tottenham, who could be looking to add more support to Harry Kane & co at the top.

Meanwhile, AC Milan to are said to be eyeing a move for Torres, who could be viewed as a possible replacement for Rafael Leao amidst uncertainty surrounding the Portuguese forward’s future.

However, Arsenal could have the edge over the other suitors due to the fact that they are leading the Premier League title race.

But the report adds that signing Torres will not be cheap, considering that Barcelona splashed €55 million for him less than a year ago and have him tied down to a contract until 2027.

While there is no mention of Barça’s stance on the matter, it is unlikely that they would look to sell the 22-year-old forward so soon after signing him, despite their obvious financial issues. Other players like Memphis Depay and Hector Bellerin could be offloaded instead in January.
