Jude Bellingham has already received a warning from Pep Guardiola, who is optimistic about the transfer.

Although teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid are also in the running to sign England midfielder Jude Bellingham, Manchester City is reportedly confident that it will prevail.

In light of reports that the Catalan’s Manchester City team is in the lead in the race to sign the midfielder, Pep Guardiola has already cautioned Jude Bellingham against making a choice he would regret.

In 2020, Bellingham, then 19 years old, left Birmingham City for Borussia Dortmund despite interest from Manchester United, a powerhouse in the Premier League. Several elite teams have been linked with a move for him after a string of standout performances for England at the World Cup, but he could cost upwards of £100 million.

With clubs like Liverpool and Real Madrid in the mix, City reportedly feels they have an advantage. The Sky Blues believe that having Guardiola in charge gives them a competitive edge, but the former Bayern Munich manager had some advice for the youngster in October.

Before Dortmund’s Champions League match against City, Guardiola said, “I think Dortmund is a perfect place for young talented players to come.” Jude Bellingham “might go to City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, or Tottenham if he were in England, but he might not get the minutes.”

“Playing time is the best way for a young player to improve. When he arrived, he was 17 years old, but it wasn’t just about his skill; it was also about the way he led, kicked, and approached the referee.

“When it came to mentality, this man was unique. He is currently 19 and one of the captains. The quality is well known. It’s not just about the objectives; the entire package is excellent. At age 19, he’s already competing for England. We are aware of his quality.”

Bellingham has scored nine goals this season for Dortmund across all competitions, which is already his best performance. At the World Cup, he also scored his first goal for a senior national team, heading England to a 6-2 victory over Iran in their opening group match.

With additional goals against Copenhagen and Sevilla, Edin Terzic’s team advanced to the round of 16. The teenager also scored against City in a 2-1 Champions League loss. They will play Chelsea next, a team that includes several members of Bellingham’s England squad, including fellow midfielder Mason Mount.
