21-year-old French midfielder is in talks to join Newcastle United.

According to reports, Newcastle United is interested in signing OGC Nice’s Khephren Thuram, a French midfielder who is 21 years old.
Newcastle United and a move for Khephren Thuram have reportedly been discussed, according to a Daily Mail report. It will also be interesting to see if they decide to pursue the French midfielder, 21, when the market reopens in a month.

The OGC Nice defensive midfielder has excelled, scoring four goals in all competitions. If the two clubs can come to an agreement on a price, Thuram might prove to be a valuable, long-term addition to Newcastle United’s midfield.

Until the summer of 2025, the 21-year-old is under contract with Nice, and the French club may demand a higher fee for his services. Given that Newcastle is one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, the asking price is not likely to be a problem. The player’s brother, Marcus Thuram, has also drawn interest from the Magpies.

Over the past few windows, Eddie Howe significantly improved the team. Newcastle, however, is still in need of a good midfielder. Thuram might be Bruno Guimaraes’ ideal lifelong companion. The highly regarded defensive midfielder would be an improvement over Jonjo Shelvey and provide the team with some much-needed depth.

The versatility of the 21-year-old, who can also play as a central midfielder, will be an advantage. Thuram, who is still relatively young, has the capacity to grow into a top-notch midfielder in the future. It might be best for him to learn under a manager like Eddie Howe over the upcoming few seasons.

Over the years, the manager of Newcastle United has assisted in the development of several young players. Additionally, he might be helpful for the midfielder for Nice in terms of his development. The report also states that Newcastle is also keeping an eye on Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

When the transfer window reopens next month, Leicester may be forced to sell the Belgian international for a pittance because he will become a free agent at the end of the current campaign. It is clear that Newcastle wants to expand its options in the middle of the field in January, so it will be interesting to see if they can finalize a signing in the upcoming weeks.
