Manchester City reportedly wants to trade a player making £270,000 per week for “real firework.” Chelsea

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City is willing to offload Jack Grealish to sign Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea target Rafael Leao from AC Milan in the summer of 2023, according to CMW.

REPORTED JACK GREALISH AND RAFAEL LEAO SWAP PLAN

CMW has reported that defending Premier League champions City want to sign Portugal international forward Leao, linked with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, from AC Milan and are willing to include England international attacking midfielder Grealish in a swap deal.

The £270,000-a-week (SalarySport) attacker has struggled to make a huge impact at City since his move from Villa, and the Citizens are ready to cut their losses and bring in 23-year-old Leao, described as “a real firework” by ex-Chelsea and Liverpool star Joe Cole on  ITV (8:03 pm, November 28, 2022).

According to CMW, Milan is not open to such a swap deal.

BLOW FOR CHELSEA AND TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

City’s reported plan regarding Leao will come as a blow for Chelsea as well as Tottenham Hotspur.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have been linked with Leao, who starred for Portugal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Earlier this month, CMW reported that Chelsea could make a bid of €120 million (£106 million) for AC Milan forward Leao, a player Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur want.

CMW had earlier reported that Tottenham is keen on signing Leao, who has scored six goals and provided four assists in Serie A and has scored one goal and provided two assists in the UEFA Champions League for Milan so far this season.

Now, Milan may not want a swap deal involving Leao and Grealish, but City is one of the biggest clubs in the world regularly win the Premier League, and compete for the UEFA Champions League.

Leao himself could be tempted to leave Milan for City in the summer of 2023.
