Arsenal warned that Newcastle United has an advantage in the race for “box office” signings.

The Magpies have been rumored to be interested in signing the €100 million-rated star.

In the competition to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk in January, Newcastle United may have an advantage over Arsenal, according to one report. According to Shakhtar Donetsk, the forward is worth more than the money Manchester United paid for Antony during the most recent summer transfer window. The young Ukrainian is estimated to be worth around €100 million.

The highly regarded 21-year-old, who has made no secret of his desire to sign with the Gunners, has also been linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. It is unclear, though, if Arsenal or Newcastle will part with their cash for a somewhat unproven teenager given the high transfer fee.

Given that Alexander Isak will be joining the Magpies in the summer, it is difficult to see how either party can avoid the Financial Fair Play requirements. Frank McAvennie, a former West Ham United striker, thinks Eddie Howe might actually have the advantage in the battle to get the talented Ukrainian player.

He told Football Insider, “I can imagine Arteta wanting someone like Mudryk in there, but they are a young club.

“Newcastle is progressing. The northeast would adore a name like Mudryk; they would be thrilled by it.

“I can see it happening; Mudryk is a player in the mold of Eddie Howe. He wouldn’t be heading there for financial gain alone. I can see why a manager would want to hire him. He should play in the Premier League, in my opinion.
