With three significant first team additions being considered, Leicester City is expecting a hectic January.

How ever, some of the more unusual transactions that occasionally go unnoticed make up a significant portion of a transfer window. You simply need to ask Kamal Sowah and Faiq Bolkiah about Leicester’s fair share of them throughout the years.

This month, City have the chance to make a few more intriguing acquisitions. Here are three out-of-the-box candidates they may sign up before midnight on January 31.

Jamie Vardy’s status is questioned when Khun Top sends a direct communication regarding a move to Leicester City.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, the chairman of Siam Yapp – Police Tero City, is pleased with the job he conducts to advance Thai football.

You simply need to look at the under-21s and see Thanawat Suengchittawon to see evidence of it at Leicester City as well. For a number of years, they also operated a Thai academy in the former Belvoir Drive training facility.

With the addition of Siam Yapp, a striker who is half Thai and half English and is 18 years old, Top might carry on this task.

Yapp currently plies his trade in Thailand with Police Tero, but is part of Bayern Munich’s World under-19 squad, a global initiative run by the German giants for talent across the globe.

The youngster has one English parent and is eligible to represent England at international level, so securing a work permit would not be a problem for the teenager.

Mandela Keita – OH Leuven

With Papy Mendy and Hamza Choudhury facing uncertain Leicester City futures, there could be some changes in defensive midfield quarters.

One signing City could complete quite easily is that of OH Leuven standout Mandela Keita. The 20-year-old is playing for the second King Power club so negotiating a transfer would not be an issue.

Keita has been compared to N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba in the Belgian press, and has been linked with transfers to Sheffield United, Burnley, Torino, Nice, Anderlecht and Club Brugge.

The defensive midfielder can sit deep and break up play, and can be found towards the top of the charts for defensive duels won over in Belgium.

Andy King – Bristol City

Okay, hear us out on this one.

Kingy is currently a player-coach at Bristol City and is half way into a new stage in his career. The legendary City midfielder has played 14 times in the Championship this season so is still contributing, but a return to Leicester could better suit him for the next chapter of his career.

King might finish his playing career at a team that means so much to him because several Premier League clubs now have player-coaches in their under-21 squads. More crucially, Kolo Toure’s departure has created space for a youthful first team coach who may serve as a liaison between the players and the coaching staff.

The 32-year-old also made mention of going back to Leicester in a recent interview with Matt Piper, another academy alum. King promised to return to the club “very soon.”
