Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in a £30 million Premier League attacker approached by Everton.

Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma is reportedly interested in signing Leicester City forward Ayoze Perez, with the news coming one transfer window after Everton made an approach for the Spanish attacker.

According to AS, the Serie A giants, alongside Real Betis and numerous French clubs, are all keen on signing Perez this month, with Leicester set to offload the 29-year-old striker just three-and-a-half years after spending £30m to bring the Newcastle United star to the King Power Stadium.

However, with four Premier League goals in his last three top-flight seasons, Perez’s time at Leicester appears to be coming to an end, with Roma positioned to sign the attacker, much to the annoyance of Everton.

As previously reported in the summer Frank Lampard’s side had made an approach to sign Perez in the summer. And with Everton lacking in the attacking department, the Spanish forward could have been an ideal addition for the Merseyside club this January.

Indeed, Perez could have benefited greatly from a move to Everton. yet with Roma now in the race to sign the 29-year-old, Mourinho’s influence could be what sways the transfer battle into the Italian side’s favor, with a complete change of scenery potentially an appealing prospect for the attacker.

With Everton desperate for an attacker, any Premier League-proven figure would be a welcome sight at Goodison Park, which is why Roma’s interest in Perez could be such a problem for the Toffees’, with the Spaniard ideal for what the English side needs in January.

ROMA SIGNING PEREZ COULD LEAVE EVERTON SHORT OF OPTIONS

Everton’s squad is in desperate need of changes this month, with the attack an area that many fans will agree needs new reinforcements in the coming weeks. This is why Perez heading to Roma could cause some problems given how few suitable options are out there in the transfer market.

As we know, Everton won’t have much to spend in January, and a player as cheap as Perez could be what saves the Toffees from another relegation scrap, though the player himself will likely want a move to Rome to play under Mourinho.
