Tottenham Hotspur has now won two games in a row and kept two clean sheets to get their season back on track.

At the weekend, Spurs were put to the test by Portsmouth, but they were easily defeated.

Antonio Conte must prepare his team for a huge clash against rivals Arsenal, who will visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next.

Spurs supporters would give everything to derail their implausible title challenge.

Conte will be hoping for players like Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur to be available.

The Italian has been forced to throw Bryan Gil into the action in attack, with Richarlison also unavailable.

It’s a position that Conte wants to further strengthen, and Jones has provided an update on a potential target.

He believes Tottenham could make a late move for Brazilian forward Tete in January.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Lyon from Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, the Ukrainian side could be tempted to sell the young forward if the right bid came in.

Tottenham could make a late move for Tete

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: “Tete could be an option towards the back end of the window, he might offer some value,”

“But the toughest thing to consider is, are any of those players actually up to the level to make up for the absence of Dejan Kulusevski?

“It’s really hard to guarantee that.”

Described as a ‘special player’ by Lyon coach Peter Bosz, Tete typically plays on the right wing.

He’s already scored six league goals and provided three assists in Ligue 1, and can play in a more central role.

According to the Daily Mail, Tete is worth up to £25 million.

The Brazilian is unquestionably the ready-made successor for Conte in the attack.

His Champions League experience over the last few seasons demonstrates his ability to compete against the best.

Tottenham considering a late move for Tete signals they may be examining other targets first.

However, a new attacker is at the top of Conte’s priority list for the coming weeks.
