Why did Sean Dyche attend Nottingham Forest vs. Leicester City despite the pressure from Brendan Rodgers?

The latest Leicester City news explains Sean Dyche’s visit to the City Ground following Nottingham Forest’s defeat.

Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche watched Leicester City lose to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday – but perhaps not for the reason it seems.

City boss Brendan Rodgers is under mounting pressure after a third Premier League defeat in a row, with the away end unfurling banners to show their frustration at both the manager and the club board.

Also in the stadium was Dyche, with eagle-eyed Leicester supporters speculating about the reason for his attendance at the game. Some were suggesting he could be lined up to replace Rodgers amid talk about the manager’s future.

But that is highly unlikely to be the case. Speaking on The Athletic’s Football Podcast in November 2022, Dyche explained why he is a regular visitor at Nottingham Forest matches.

“I’ve also gone to Forest a few times to look at them,” he added. “However, it’s not as simple as scoping anything out.

“It’s more to learn and see how other people and coaches do things. It’s only in the last couple of months that I’ve perhaps been having a closer look at what is in the marketplace.

“I can’t seem to go to watch Forest without people thinking there is an ulterior motive. I live in Nottingham though and they happen to be my closest team.”
