Conte sacking speculation at Tottenham heats up as a report names four potential replacements. Daniel Levy will think about it.

Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier League and are through to the last 16 of the Champions League. However, all is not well at the club and a growing portion of supporters are unhappy with the Italian tactician.

Indeed, Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal illustrated a pretty sizeable gulf in class and dished up Tottenham’s fourth home loss in just 10 games this season.

And with the supporter’s trust writing to Levy to express their dismay at the direction the club is heading, it seems all is not well for Tottenham. They now sit five points adrift of Manchester United in fourth place. And with a trip to Manchester City next on the horizon, it could get worse for Conte before it gets better.

Indeed, to rub salt into their wounds, Paul Merson has gone all out for Conte, ripping to shreds a major Tottenham embarrassment.

Conte’s deal at Tottenham is currently due to expire in the summer anyway. He has regularly indicated that he could walk away from the club, dropping his most recent exit hint a fortnight ago.

As a result, Levy has plenty to ponder over Conte’s future at Tottenham between now and the end of the season.

Indeed, the Daily Express claims the Spurs chairman has four solid options in place already should a parting of ways occur.

Tottenham has Pochettino as The 1 option to succeed Conte

And the name right at the top of Levy’s wish list is former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine worked wonders during his five years at the helm. Guiding them to the 2019 Champions League, the axe was to fall on his time in charge just a few months later after an unexpected loss of form.

Since then, he has taken charge of PSG after a lengthy sabbatical. However, that reign in charge only lasted 18 months with Pochettino leaving the Ligue 1 giants in the summer.

He has since been linked with Chelsea and West Ham as replacements for the under-pressure Graham Potter and David Moyes.

However, he has always made clear his love for Tottenham. And he could return to the club if he feels he has unfinished business in north London.

Pochettino, though is far from the only option the report claims Levy is considering.

In addition, the Express claims former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who Pochettino succeeded at PSG, could also come into the reckoning.

The German was cruelly shown the door by Todd Boehly at Chelsea earlier this season. However, their form as a result since suggests the Americans may have made the wrong decision.

Having led Chelsea to Champions League glory, he will forever be remembered at Stamford Bridge.

He also enjoyed life in London and would seemingly return to the capital if the right opportunity emerged.

Two surprise names are also under consideration at Tottenham

Per the report, another German coach is also under consideration at Tottenham in Joachim Low.

He led Germany to World Cup glory in 2014 and remained in the hot seat through 2021. Now 62, Low has been out of work since England’s 2-0 win over Die Mannschaft at Euro 2020. As a result, his appointment by the Spurs would likely be viewed as a surprise.

Another former international coach Luis Enrique is another man reportedly on the Tottenham watch list.

The former Barcelona coach stepped down from his role in charge of Spain following their World Cup elimination to Morocco.

Already considered a possible replacement for Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, who is himself under pressure. As such, Enrique is unlikely to be out of work for too long.

Whether a move to Tottenham would tempt his remains to be seen.

However, he won nine trophies during his three years in charge at the Nou Camp. As such, he may be seen as a shrewd option for Levy.
