According to recent reports, Leicester City has agreed on personal terms with Fiorentina forward Nicolas Gonzalez.

The Foxes have had a disappointing first half of the season, and they are only two points above the relegation zone, indicating a clear need for attacking reinforcements.

Brendan Rodgers’ side made a £30 million bid for the Argentine earlier this month in the hope of securing his services, and a significant breakthrough has now been made in negotiations.

Leicester has now ‘agreed with personal terms’ with Gonzalez and is ‘pushing ahead’ with their move to complete this deal before the end of the window, according to 90min.

Fiorentina is‘ yet to accept’ the club’s official bid and is still ‘considering their options’, but the 24-year-old would ‘double his wages’ should he make the switch to the King Power Stadium.

Chief executive officer Joe Barone has revealed that the club isn’t looking to sell the attacker, but the source claims they are currently in the process of identifying replacements, which suggests that the top-flight side’s target is on his way to the Midlands.

TIF thoughts on Gonzalez to Leicester…

Gonzalez has been dubbed a full-back’s ‘nightmare’ by Josh Bunting and he could be the striking force that Leicester has ever so badly been crying out for.

The Serie A star has so far scored five goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this season and is a versatile player with the ability to operate in three different positions (Transfermarkt).

Despite being only 5 feet 9 inches tall, Gonzalez ranks in the 99th percentile for aerial wins, demonstrating that he’s just as dangerous off the field as he is on it.
