Tottenham has agreed to pay £26.5 million for the ‘terrifying’ playmaker; the deal structure is still being worked out.

Tottenham appears to be getting closer to completing the signing of Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma, with the clubs agreeing on a fee.

Spurs have made Zaniolo their number-one target right now. Antonio Conte has been interested in signing him for some time, and it appears that a deal is finally on the cards.

However, there had been some doubts about whether the transfer would be completed. According to 90Min, one of the biggest hurdles has now been overcome, with Roma and Spurs both agreeing on a fee of around £26.5 million.

According to 90Min, the only thing left to figure out is the deal’s structure. There is still some debate about the terms of the purchase obligation. Spurs and Roma are currently divided on what should trigger the buy clause.

Spurs will currently loan Zaniolo to them. Roma then wants the Premier League club to sign Zaniolo regardless. However, the Spurs want to be obligated to buy only if they finish in the top four. As we all know, that appears unlikely at the moment.

TBR Opinion: Tottenham must complete the Zaniolo deal as soon as possible.
What is Tottenham up to in this transfer window? Once again, they’re in the final week of the season with no signings.

Yes, there are other issues with Antonio Conte going on in the background. However, this squad requires new players and a facelift. The spurs will most likely miss out on a top-four spot if they do not add in January.

Zaniolo is also capable of making a difference. Zaniolo was persuaded to spend the summer in Rome after being praised as a “frightening” talent. Spurs appear to be on the verge of landing their man after falling down the pecking order.
