Ten Hag could replace’shocking’ MUFC dud with ‘unbelievable’ linked £218k-p/w ace, according to opinion.

With 20 games played, Erik ten Hag’s side has won 12 of them, drawing three and losing five, leaving them in fourth place with 39 points on the board.

One figure that has been in and out of the team this season is Anthony Martial, who has only made 13 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions this season.

Having only started nine of those games, the Frenchman, who has had previous performances described as “shocking” by Jamie O’Hara, has yet to complete a full 90 minutes, with numerous injuries hampering his campaign.

The 27-year-old will be entering the final year of his contract at United in the summer, which suggests that the club may use that transfer period to cash in on the striker if Ten Hag doesn’t see a future for him at Old Trafford.

If the Manchester club were to consider getting rid of Martial in the summer, one player they have been linked with who could be a suitable replacement for him is Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has been mooted as a potential Old Trafford recruit in the past week.

Indeed, 90min reported last weekend that United, as well as a number of other European giants, had been offered the striker’s services – perhaps in light of the financial scandal Juve is currently embroiled in.

After scoring 49 goals in 108 appearances for Fiorentina, Vlahovic joined Juventus back in the 2022 January transfer window and has since gone on to find the net 16 times in 36 appearances.

Hailed by Fabrizio Romano as an “unbelievable” attacking figure, the £219k-per-week striker certainly has the attacking credentials to be an exciting signing for Ten Hag’s side.

With Florian Plettenberg recently revealing that the reported transfer target, Victor Osimhen, could be too expensive for United to sign, Vlahovic could be a suitable alternative for the club to look at.

Moving forward, if Martial’s days at Old Trafford are numbered, the Red Devils should definitely look to see if they would be able to land a deal for the Serbian as a potential long-term replacement.
