Leicester City are closing in on a transfer as Leeds United clarify their stance following confusion.

The latest Leicester City transfer news on Tete as the Foxes look to add the winger to their squad before the deadline.

Leeds United has no intention of signing Leicester City target Tete, according to reports in France.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Foxes are now in advanced talks with the Brazilian about a move to the King Power Stadium.

According to Leeds Live, the player is not in the UK and is not ready to sign for the Whites, as reported by L’Equipe.

And Romano now claims that Leicester is in talks with Tete and his camp as Rodgers looks to add a winger before the deadline.

He stated: “Leicester City is in advanced talks with Olympique Lyon to sign Brazilian winger TetĂȘ. The discussions are now in their final stages.”

Tete has been on loan at Lyon from Shakhtar Donetsk this season, scoring six goals in 17 appearances.

Rodgers has been looking to bolster his wide options for the second half of the season as the Foxes attempt to climb out of the relegation zone.

“There will be adjustments in the squad, but everyone is clear from the summer what their situation is,” Rodgers said of his transfer plans. If a senior player is forced to miss out (on a place in the Premier League’s 25-man squad), he will have been aware of the situation or will have known he needed to play elsewhere.

“We must do what is best for the club and the team. We don’t need to move any players because the club is working very hard to bring in the right type of player.

“There’s no problem getting a player in, but you have to get the right type of player in.”
