According to The Games Cabin, Louis Saha believes Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will regret failing to sign Arsenal’s new boy, Leandro Trossard, in January.

Following his, January move from overachievers Brighton and Hove Albion to Premier League leaders Arsenal, the former Premier League striker believes Leandro Trossard is a ‘great’ player.

Mikel Arteta’s men may have missed out on Moises Caicedo, but they did sign Trossard for £27 million (Sky Sports) as attacking cover following Gabriel Jesus’ injury during the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Prior to his move to the Emirates, a number of clubs were interested in Trossard, including Tottenham, but he forced a move to the other side of north London, with his behavior during his final days at Brighton not sitting well with his then-manager, Roberto De Zerbi.

In any case, after seven goals for Brighton this season, the Belgium international provides much-needed cover, experience, versatility, and a goal threat to this ever-growing, fearless, young, and title-chasing Arsenal squad.

But, while the 28-year-old is looking to help Arsenal cross a line they haven’t crossed in over 20 years, Louis Saha believes he could have helped Spurs as well.

“Yes, I believe they’ll be sorry they didn’t sign him,” Saha said. “There are reasons we don’t understand why a transfer happened or didn’t happen, but Trossard is a fantastic player who would have greatly aided Tottenham in so many ways.”

There are no concerns about Arteta’s starting XI; in fact, if you can guarantee that his players stay out of the treatment room from now until the end of the season, the title is theirs.

However, as Jesus’ injury shows, that is not going to be the case, so when those bench players come in, they must ensure that the levels do not drop.

With players like deadline day signing Jorginho, Scotland international Kieran Tierney, and Trossard now on the bench, the defensive levels have significantly improved.
