Yesterday, Howe praised David Moyes, West Ham as a club, and the players.

The Newcastle manager even revealed how he attempted to sign West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta during the summer transfer window.

West Ham will rely heavily on Lucas Paqueta and Declan Rice this evening.

And Howe gushed about both players during yesterday’s pre-match press conference…

Eddie Howe names two West Ham United players he admires.
The Newcastle manager spoke to the media yesterday ahead of tonight’s match against West Ham.

When asked about David Moyes’ team, Howe mentioned two West Ham players, according to the Shields Gazette:

“In the middle of the pitch, Paqueta gives West Ham something completely different. We’re expecting a tough game because he and (Declan) Rice are both excellent players.”

Paqueta and Rice are both exceptional football players, and Howe is correct.

The thing is, now is the time for both of them to start playing well together and really propel the Hammers up the Premier League table.

This season, Rice has been his usual consistent self, but I expect a lot more from Paqueta.

Eddie Howe will undoubtedly have a strategy for dealing with both West Ham players this evening. When you establish yourself as a top player, this is what happens.

The England and Brazil internationals certainly have the quality to control the game against the Magpies.

Let’s hope Paqueta and Rice can lead us to victory at St James’ Park.
