What Jordan Henderson did to the Liverpool fans after today’s humiliation at the hands of Wolves

Jordan Henderson was seen at the end of today’s defeat to Wolves handing over his shirt to a young Liverpool fan.

Liverpool was humiliated 3-0 at Molineux on the day, and it was another day to forget for the Reds. However, according to a video posted on Twitter by Redmen TV, it will be a memorable match for one fan.

Henderson approaches the traveling Reds fans, standing for a few moments and applauding their support. After pointing out a fan in the crowd, the Liverpool captain hands over his shirt and pats the youngster on the head.

Many fans will not want to see this after yet another spineless performance by Liverpool on the field. But it just goes to show that no matter what happens, this is a club that sticks together.

Liverpool is on the lookout for Henderson’s inspiration.
Henderson has deservedly lost his place in the team in recent weeks. However, due to the poor performances of those chosen ahead of him, he is still being called upon to contribute.

That is still the case today. Unfortunately, the captain’s dismal run of form was evident once more.

Despite being given only 25 minutes by Jurgen Klopp, Henderson managed to catch the eye – and not in a good way.

It’s unclear why the 32-year-old has struggled so much since a brilliant World Cup with England. Perhaps he overdid it in Qatar, or perhaps age is finally catching up with him.

Whatever the reason, he needs to stop hoofing balls into the air during promising attacks.

Henderson’s carelessness in possession has cost Liverpool far too many times this season. The skipper appears to have lost sight of what his role in the team should be.

Jordan is frequently lauded as the ideal professional, the ideal leader for a club the size of Liverpool – and he is. He has repeatedly demonstrated this. But he should be held accountable for how things have gone this season. Henderson clearly has the ability to lead this team to great heights. So, now that things have gone from bad to worse, why can’t he get them back up?

Those questions will remain unanswered until his leadership returns to the field full-time. Perhaps that will never happen again. Meanwhile, the traveling Kop’s support is greatly appreciated. That performance did not deserve applause today, but it did. Hendo deserves credit for recognizing this at the very least.
