‘Personal terms are 100% agreed,’ according to Romano, who claims the attacker is on the verge of a shock move after talks with Tottenham.

Nicolo Zaniolo is pushing to join Galatasaray from Roma after being linked with Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia reported on Sunday that Zaniolo had agreed to a possible move to Turkey.

Galatasaray is interested in a permanent deal, but it has been suggested that Zaniolo’s release clause demands are too high for the Turkish giants.

Personal terms are now ‘100% agreed’ between Galatasaray and Zaniolo, according to Fabrizio Romano, though the release clause remains an issue.

The fee involved, according to Romano, is around €22 million (£19.7 million), though the two clubs are still discussing potential add-ons.

Zaniolo appears to be on the verge of a surprise move to Turkey, just weeks after England appeared to be his next destination.

WANTED: LEEDS UNITED AND TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR ZANIOLO, NICOLO
For a long time, it has been clear that Zaniolo’s future lies outside of Roma.

Zaniolo hasn’t played recently as he tries to force a move away, with most expecting a Premier League move.

Rudy Galetti, an Italian journalist, claimed in January that Zaniolo had agreed to terms with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have been linked with Zaniolo in every window so far, but January seemed like the ideal time for a deal as Tottenham sought an attacking addition.

Instead, Tottenham signed Arnaut Danjuma, closing one exit door for Zaniolo.

On deadline day, Calciomercato reported that Zaniolo preferred a move to Leeds United over Everton and Southampton.

None of those moves came to fruition, leaving Zaniolo to consider Turkey while their transfer window remains open.

Zaniolo was expected to be a star, but two major knee injuries altered his career trajectory.

Still, Zaniolo’s move from the Premier League to Galatasaray feels like a step back, which may leave Leeds and Tottenham feeling like they didn’t miss out on much in the end.
