Tottenham Hotspur have ruled out selling Harry Kane to a Premier League rival this season.

Tottenham has decided not to sell Harry Kane to a Premier League rival this summer, despite the fact that he is in the final year of his contract.

The England captain has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this year, while he was also linked with a move to Manchester City in 2021 and has previously been linked with Chelsea.

According to The Times, Spurs have decided that he will not join an English club in the next transfer window.

That does not necessarily mean he will stay put, as Bayern Munich is thought to be very interested in the prolific striker. Real Madrid has also been mentioned as a possible destination.

Kane will be 30 in July and has only one year left on his contract, but Spurs would demand a high price for their talisman from any European club.

Whether he moves this summer or not appears to come down to whether he values winning trophies more than becoming the Premier League’s all-time leading goal-scorer.

In Sunday’s win over Manchester City, the 29-year-old moved to 200 Premier League goals, closing in on Alan Shearer’s record of 260.

These have all come with Tottenham, but while he has Golden Boots, he has not won any league or cup silverware with the club.

A move to Bayern Munich or Real Madrid would be very appealing in terms of winning trophies and experiencing another league while still in his prime, but it would jeopardize his chances of breaking Shearer’s record.

Kane has made no secret of his desire to be the Premier League record scorer, saying: ‘It’s always there in the back of my mind but I just take it game by game, season by season.

‘It’s definitely there to be broken, and I’m feeling good and fit, so we’ll see what happens.’
