Manchester City’s charges are as follows: Amanda Staveley, co-owner of Newcastle United, attends the Premier League summit.

Following a nearly five-year investigation, Manchester City has been charged by the Premier League for a number of offenses committed between 2009 and 2018. The club has now been referred to an independent commission, which will have the authority to impose a penalty in due course.

On Thursday, representatives from all 20 Premier League clubs gathered at the Churchill Hotel in London for a quarterly summit, with Manchester City’s alleged rule violations at the top of the agenda.

Staveley was present, as were Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly and Brighton & Hove Albion CEO Paul Barber. According to Sky Sports, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal are among those calling for serious repercussions against the six-time Premier League champions.

If found guilty, Man City could face a points deduction or relegation. However, given the complexities and depth of the charges, a quick resolution is unlikely.

Manchester City, on the other hand, appears to be confident, having issued a statement welcoming the independent commission’s review, claiming to have ‘irrefutable evidence’ supporting the club’s innocence regarding the charges.

“The Club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position,” said a statement from Man City.

“As a result, we look forward to putting this matter to rest once and for all.”
