Leicester City get ‘huge’ response to unexpected injury update

The potential return of full-back Victor Kristiansen from injury earlier than expected is “huge news”, according to Leicester City fans.

The January signing has been an instant hit with supporters due to his fighting spirit on the pitch. He played in four Premier League games since joining FC Copenhagen in a £ 17 million deal in the winter window but has missed the last two league games due to an ankle injury suffered in training.

The city fell to defeat against Southampton and Chelsea with Kristiansen watching on from the sidelines. The initial prognosis expected the 20-year-old to be out of action for around four weeks, but it now seems that he could be back sooner than expected, according to Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand.

Kristiansen has been given his first call-up to the full Denmark squad for the upcoming international break, with the Denmark manager saying he expects the full-back to return to action before joining up with the team, two weeks after his injury.

“A small note about Victor is that, of course, it is with the aim that he will play at the weekend,” Hjulmand said on Tuesday. “It should be the case that he plays at the weekend against Brentford.”
