51-year-old manager says he will ‘jump at the chance’ to manage Tottenham – club is in contact with him

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly in contact with former manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to Football Insider.

As per the report, the club’s hierarchy has already spoken with the Argentine and that the 51-year-old would ‘jump at the chance’ to return to the club for a second stint.

It is believed that Pochettino has a good relationship with Daniel Levy, who is reportedly keen on bringing him back despite some senior figures being against it.

However, Tottenham could face stiff competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid, both of whom have expressed an interest in the Argentine. Chelsea is reportedly considering Pochettino as an option to replace Graham Potter, who remains under pressure despite the recent improvement in results.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid may consider making a move for Pochettino to replace Carlo Ancelotti next season, with the Spanish club being keen admirers of the Argentine.

The current Spurs manager, Antonio Conte, looks set to leave the club at the end of the season, with no reports of a contract extension. Reports suggest that he is keen on a return to Italy, with Juventus being one of the clubs linked with him.

Conte took over Spurs last year and guided them to a top-four finish, which was a remarkable achievement. This season, however, the Spurs had their best start under him but then saw the season slowly derail. They are now out of all competitions, and their only hope is to finish in the top four, which will not be easy with the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool just below them.

Tottenham fans would welcome Pochettino back with open arms. Under him, Spurs enjoyed some of their best times, consistently finishing in the top four as well as having their best Champions League run, where they reached the final but lost to Liverpool. Pochettino remains a hugely popular figure among Tottenham fans, and many would like to see him back in the dugout.
