‘I guarantee’: Pundit tips Chelsea to bid for £200,000-a-week Tottenham player

Stan Collymore has predicted in CaughtOffSide that Graham Potter’s Chelsea and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool striker believes that Tottenham and England international star Kane will be in demand at the end of the season.

And the pundit has urged the £200,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker to move to Manchester United.

CHELSEA AND MANCHESTER UNITED TIPPED TO BID FOR TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STRIKER HARRY KANE

Collymore wrote: “The situation at Spurs is giving Harry Kane the perfect excuse to leave in the summer. He’s never had an easier way out. Seriously, who is honestly going to begrudge him a move elsewhere now?

“That man has done just about everything he can for Spurs but now, at the age of 29, soon to be 30, this summer is going to be possibly his last opportunity to move on and go to a club that stands a real chance of winning some major silverware – whether that is Chelsea or Manchester United, who knows, but I guarantee that they’ll both be in the running for Kane come to the summer window.

“If I were Kane, I would do everything in my power to get a move to Manchester United, but that’s me speaking as an older former pro, the fact Chelsea is based in London will probably play a big part as Kane’s family life may mean he doesn’t want to relocate too far away from where he has been for the majority of his playing career.”

HITC VERDICT: CHELSEA TRANSFER UNLIKELY

In our view, Harry Kane is unlikely to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

We do not think that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will sell arguably his best player to bitter London rivals Chelsea.

And Kane himself is unlikely to cross the Tottenham – Chelsea divide, especially if he has other options.

Now, of course, Chelsea would love to have a player like Kane on their team.

After all, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners need to sign a top striker in the summer transfer window.

And Kane is one of the best number 9 there is in the world at the moment.

However, we believe that Chelsea should not waste their time and effort trying to sign Kane.
