Alexis Mac Allister makes Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte prediction following Argentina decision

Facundo Buonanotte joined Brighton in January from Rosario Central and after making three appearances for the Albion, has earned an international call-up alongside Alexis Mac Alliser with Argentina

World Cup Winner Alexis Mac Allister has tipped his Brighton teammate Facundo Buonanotte to go all the way after he received his first senior call-up to the Argentina team.

Buonanotte joined Brighton during the January transfer window from Argentine club Rosario Central and has only played three times for the Albion.

Despite that, the teenager has been called up to the national team, such is his promise, and Mac Allister has revealed what he told his international coaches.

“I am really excited for him,” Mac Allister told Brighton’s website. “I told him that he is in the right place to keep growing his career, he’s very happy to be here at Brighton and now to be a part of the Argentina squad.

“I spoke with the Argentina coaching staff when they asked me about him. I said that he’s a very exciting player and that once he gets used to the league he will become a top player.

The playmaker also spoke to his brother about Buonanotte, the pair playing together at Rosario Central prior to the January switch.

“Facundo played with my brother in Argentina for Rosario Central, so I spoke with my brother and he told me that he is an amazing guy and a really good player.”

Buonanotte turned 18 in December and will spend the current international break mixing it up with the likes of Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria.

Passing on advice to the youngster, Mac Allister has told his club teammate to ‘enjoy the moment and learn from the Argentina squad’.

“I think it will be amazing for him and the other young players, they have to enjoy it. It’s not easy to understand how fantastic it is when you’re 18 to have the chance to train with players like Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria, who have won everything.

“They have to train well and enjoy it. Enjoy the moment, learn from them, and have the same mentality as them.”

Argentina will play their first games since winning the World Cup in December when they face Panama on Friday and Curacao next Tuesday.
