There are new Mauricio Pochettino hopes for West Ham after a sudden development at Spurs following the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann.

Out-of-work Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily linked with both West Ham and his old club Tottenham Hotspur in recent months.

David Moyes is under huge pressure at West Ham with the club facing the very real threat of relegation from the Premier League.

And while the Hammers board has stood firm behind the Scot, many fans want to see a change of manager in the summer regardless.

Meanwhile, over at bitter rivals Spurs, Antonio Conte is facing the sack imminently after his explosive rant following the draw with Southampton last weekend.

Tottenham fans have been singing Pochettino’s name at matches and waving banners urging the club to reappoint their former boss.

It was previously reported that West Ham had made genuine approaches to sound out former Spurs boss Pochettino.

As reported on Hammers News last month it was claimed Pochettino was keen on the West Ham job should Moyes be relieved of his duties.

Sources allegedly claimed Pochettino would be ‘keen’ on the Hammers job. And the report stated the ‘Hammers board were aware that he is available and interested’.

But with Conte seemingly on the brink at Tottenham and some Spurs fans clamoring for Pochettino’s return, it seemed inevitable that he would end up back in north London.

However, there is new Pochettino hope for West Ham after a sudden development at Spurs following the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann by Bayern Munich.

The highly-rated young German coach was dismissed by Bayern and instantly replaced with Thomas Tuchel.

That’s despite a perfect eight wins from eight in this season’s Champions League.

Now it is being reported by the likes of Sky Sports that Tottenham is instead eyeing Nagelsmann as Conte’s replacement. And the same report claims he is open to talks with Spurs.

Hammers fans have come to terms with the fact that Moyes will see the season out at West Ham.

But the development at Tottenham could open the door for a move to bring Pochettino to the London Stadium in the summer should Nagelsmann be the one to replace Conte.

Perhaps this situation could actually work out best for West Ham and Tottenham.

It rarely goes well when players or managers return to their old clubs for a second spell.

Nagelsmann would bring a fresh approach and ideas to Tottenham and Pochettino would undoubtedly be a breath of fresh for West Ham.
