Luke Ayling sends two-word message to player as Leeds agree permanent exit

Luke Ayling has congratulated Mateusz Bogusz on his move to LAFC after it was confirmed that he’s left Leeds United permanently.

LAFC confirmed via their Instagram account on Friday (31 March) that Bogusz, 21, has signed a four-year contract at the MLS club, who hold the option to extend his deal by another 12 months.

Bogusz had been on loan at Spanish second-tier side Ibiza this season but that deal was terminated early, allowing Leeds to negotiate a sale to LAFC.

Bogusz hasn’t posted himself about his move to LA just yet but Leeds right-back Ayling took to LAFC’s Instagram post to say “congratulations fella” to the young Polish midfielder.

All the best, Mateusz

It seems 2023 is the year for Leeds’ selling Mateuszs to MLS clubs.

Mateusz Klich left for DC United in the winter and now Bogusz has joined his fellow Pole in the States by joining LAFC.

Bogusz was a promising young player when he first joined Leeds but a serious injury has held him back quite a lot and this season at Ibiza, who look doomed to be relegated to Spain’s third tier, has kind of proven he’ll never be good enough to make it at Elland Road.

Bogusz can still make a name for himself in the USA, where he has a huge opportunity to improve and also make the most of what is bound to be a great lifestyle in California.

As for Leeds, Victor Orta will keep on trying to unearth gems from Europe and across the UK, despite the fact he’s had way more misses than hits.

That’s the nature of the beast though and we await our next Illan Meslier, Crysensio Summerville, Willy Gnonto, or Raphinha.
