Latest Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive as Ally McCoist has his say on claims Graham Potter has rejected the chance to manage the Foxes

Ally McCoist has responded to claims Graham Potter has rejected the chance to manage Leicester City.

Former Chelsea boss Potter has been strongly linked with the Foxes following Brendan Rodgers’ departure from the King Power Stadium and his exit from Stamford Bridge.

It was suggested on Monday he had turned down the chance to take charge of Leicester, but multiple sources have thrown doubt over those reports. Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist said: “I think he (Potter) probably needs a break, wants a break, to completely shut off.

“I think it would have been an incredible gamble for him. I mean if he’d gone to Leicester straight from Chelsea and Leicester go down, wow.

“That’s a tough thing to have on your CV, so I can understand it from that perspective as well.

“I think he’s made the right decision. I understand his decision.”
