Report: Leeds in talks for £26.5m Aston Villa target as agent jets in, Raphinha form helps deal

Spanish newspaper SPORT claim Leeds United has opened talks to sign out-on-loan Barcelona attacker Abde Ezzalzouli with the player’s agent traveling to England to thrash out a move – while Aston Villa is also interested.

The Morocco international, who was part of his country’s World Cup squad that reached the semi-finals in Qatar, is currently out on loan at Osasuna. It comes after playing 12 times for Barcelona’s senior side 12 times, scoring once.

A left winger, the 21-year-old went out on loan to La Liga side Osasuna and has since scored five goals in 26 games, laying on two assists. Ezzalzouli has a contract at Barca until the summer of 2026, but he could be sold by Xavi.

The report claims Barcelona is unsure what to do with the Moroccan. Whether to sell him or keep him and send him out on loan again. Raphinha’s presence in the squad will surely be keeping him down the pecking order.

Indeed, Raphinha – alongside the likes of Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, and Ousmane Dembele – will contribute to the decision, if he is sold. Barcelona wants to take a look at him in pre-season, but Leeds has opened talks to get him.

The player’s agent has traveled to England over talks with Leeds ahead of a potential deal. The report also states that a move hinges on our Premier League survival – while interest is aplenty. Unai Emery wants him at Villa.

Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona rate Ezzalzouli in the region of £22m and £26.5m. So this is not going to be a cheap signing if he does leave the Nou Camp. Whether Leeds is willing to pay that much remains to be seen.
