Everton takeover now on cards as timeline shared – David Ornstein

Everton takeover still on cards as 777 Partners explore deal

David Ornstein has shared that a full Everton takeover is now on the cards, despite struggles on and off the pitch in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

The Athletic journalist has reported that 777 Partners have a serious interest in investing in the Toffees as their interest remains active alongside MSP Sports Capital.

It is said that 777 Partners are in the early process of exploring the purchase of the club, taking into account potential relegation and any FFP punishment that may arrive.

Writing in his latest Monday column for The Athletic, Ornstein shared the latest ownership update coming from Goodison Park with the change possible.

“All this is happening against the backdrop of a potential sale of the club,” he wrote.

“One potentially positive development, however, is regarding the ownership, with 777 Partners — a Miami-based group that holds stakes in Hertha Berlin, Genoa, and Standard Liege among others — maintaining a serious interest in investing despite the club’s troubles.

“777 Partners is in the early process of exploring a purchase but is taking into consideration which league Everton will be playing in next season and any potential punishment regarding the alleged FFP breaches. But despite this, its interest is still active.”

Huge.

This would be massive for the future of Everton Football Club.

Farhad Moshiri has maintained that he does not want to fully sell the club, but if a suitable offer was to arrive from someone such as 777 Partners, that could change his mind.

Everything is up in the air right now, with relegation to the Championship a real possibility while the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is being built.

If any punishment was to arrive for alleged profit and sustainability breaches, that would all but confirm that relegation should it be a points deduction.

Fans have grown tired of this board and their reckless attitudes to running the club, and a fresh start would no doubt please every last person going through those turnstiles every week.

With MSP Sports Capital also in the mix, it makes for an interesting future, but with that uncertainty that we have spoken about, it may not happen until the summer.
