Brendan Rodgers must certainly be regretting doing his midnight flit to the English town of Leicester from Celtic Park back in 2019 after he was given the boot by the club after a dismal season at the Foxes. After such a good start and the winning of an FA Cup, it’s all fallen to pieces for Rodgers down the road and he’s now unemployed once again.

Undoubtedly a talented coach, Rodgers will no doubt be in another job before long, but as they say, there’s nothing ever guaranteed in life. Football is no different and the landscape can change dramatically, although the former Hoops boss is certainly a modern manager and coach in that respect. So he will be marketable to his agents.

With the English Premier League manager merry-go-round in full swing, vacancies should be available for the Irishman to reinvent himself and his brand at another top-flight club. There were obvious mitigating factors that surrounded his last year or so at the City Ground, as his injury list was extensive and the owners didn’t give him adequate backing in the transfer market either. Most will look favorably when judging his last 18 months or so at the 2016 Premier League winners.

One name that has emerged as a potential destination for the man who led Celtic to a Double Treble and an Invincible season is West Ham United. According to the Scottish Sun, the Londoners are said to be growing restless about former Celtic full-back David Moyes and although they are placed 15th in the table, may look to cut ties with the ex-Everton and Man United boss come the summertime.

Although not a big hitter, West Ham is a bigger club than Leicester City and it would give him the platform to showcase his talent once again. However, something tells me he looks at Ange Postecoglou’s bond with the Celtic supporters and thinks ‘what if’. I guess we’ll never know now, Brendan…
