Brighton want two players from same club this summer – De Zerbi working on replacing departing stars

With Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister doing great for Brighton & Hove Albion this season, it’s hard to picture the Seagulls holding both of their midfield stars this summer.

Both South Americans have been heavily linked to other Premier League clubs, and that’s why Roberto De Zerbi’s side should already start moving for potential replacements.

And that’s exactly what is happening, according to French journalist Ignazio Genuardi.

On Twitter, he today reports that with the potential departures of Caicedo and Mac Allister, Brighton has two targets in sight.

One of them is Sassuolo midfielder Maxime Lopez, who the Seagulls had already pursued in the January transfer window. It’s claimed that his teammate Davide Frattesi ‘also pleases’.

The latter has been linked to several Premier League clubs in the past week, including Brighton, and that’s why his price stands out, with Genuardi saying he’d cost a minimum of €35m, although Sassuolo themselves have said €40m.

As for Lopez, there’s still no information on how much Brighton would need to pay to get that deal done.

With De Zerbi having worked in Italy for years, it seems that’s where the Seagulls will be shopping this summer.
