Earlier this week, TuttoMercatoWeb reported Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi has set his sights on Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi.

The Premier League side wanting the 23-year-old is further backed up by Il Bianconero, who states he’s ‘really liked’ by the Seagulls.

Brighton is not alone as they are joined by Juventus and Inter Milan in the chase for the midfielder’s signature.

De Zerbi has already managed the Italy international when he was at Sassuolo and would be delighted to know his former player is open to changing clubs. It’s claimed Frattesi is ‘ready to make a leap to a big club’ in the next window.

Sassuolo, for their part, has already set a €40m asking price for him. This was revealed by their chief, Giovanni Carnevali, earlier this week.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà has explained why the Serie A side isn’t willing to offer discounts to sanction Frattesi’s sale in the summer.

“And in the midst of this panorama, a strong midfielder like Davide Frattesi could not start from a base under €40m, also because Sassuolo would have to give 30% to Roma and would only collect €28m,” he told Sporitlia, relayed by Area Napoli.

If Brighton ends up signing Frattesi, he will reunite with De Zerbi at The Amex.
