Brighton began work on this new venture in November 2022 and now those plans will come to fruition for the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season in August of this year

Brighton has revealed their new tunnel club facility will open at the start of next season.

The Albion’s CEO Paul Barber announced in November that among the improvements they were making to the Amex Stadium during the World Cup, a new hospitality experience was being built as part of a wider phased process over the next year or so.

This week, the Seagulls said the immersive ‘Tunnel Club’ will provide members an ‘exclusive’ window into the Premier League matchday, with only one-way glass separating them from the players, managers, officials, and more.

The Sussex side added that they have partnered with BBC’s MasterChef: The Professional’s winner Steven Edwards, who will design the dining experience, and the ‘premium, personalized, heated seats’ are located from the halfway line, right above the tunnel.

Brighton’s head of commercial Russell Wood said: “The Tunnel Club experience will elevate our hospitality to one of the best in the country and it was key that the menus reflected these ambitions.

“Steven [Edwards] is a fantastic chef who has a great reputation locally, not only for his food but his support of local causes and championing Sussex.”

Last year, deputy chairman Barber said only Tottenham and Manchester City offer experiences like this at their respective stadiums, so Brighton may rival them in this regard when it opens this August.

Barber told the Albion Roar podcast in November: “I think only Manchester City and Tottenham have got one in this country and it will be a great immersive experiential hospitality facility for people to enjoy at the Amex, which we haven’t been able to previously provide.

“All of the preparation work is going on for that, doesn’t take away any general admission seats, it is additive to the stadium in that sense, albeit it in a small way.”
