Tottenham have three fresh injury ahead of Manchester United clash

Man United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Thursday evening and both teams have injury concerns.

Tottenham is sweating over the fitness of Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies, and Clement Lenglet ahead of facing Manchester United, interim manager Ryan Mason has revealed.

Mason will be taking charge of the first match of his second stint in temporary charge of Spurs on Thursday as United returns to North London following Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton. Spurs sacked previous caretaker boss Cristian Stellini on Monday after the 6-1 mauling they suffered at the hands of Newcastle.

Goalkeeper and captain Lloris had a torrid time in the North East as he saw five goals fly past him within 21 minutes before he was taken off at halftime with a hip injury. Mason revealed in his pre-match press conference he is unsure if the Frenchman will be fit while defensive duo Davies and Lenglet will both be assessed in training on Wednesday afternoon.

Spurs are already without Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Emerson Royal, and Ryan Sessegnon but will have Lucas Moura available again after he served a three-match suspension.

When discussing Thursday’s match, Mason admitted it will be a difficult game but is hoping to insert some positivity back into the club by getting a result. “They’ve had a good season and won a trophy which is important for a big club,” he said on United. “Difficult but fully believe we can get a good result.

“I think from my point of view at the moment is to get some sort of energy and some sort of positivity back into the group. But not only the group, the fans, and the club have to be realistic as well when you have two training sessions, three training sessions before two games.

“It’s hard to change a great deal but I would hope and expect towards the end of the season that everyone, not only inside but outside, will see my stamp and our stamp on the group.”

United have their own injury concerns as Bruno Fernandes is a doubt with an ankle injury while Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Alejandro Garnacho, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek, and Tom Heaton are all sidelined.
