Sky Germany has revealed that RB Leipzig has now made their final contract offer to Dani Olmo, with Tottenham circling over the attacking midfielder.

Olmo has endured a frustrating season so far, having missed significant chunks of the 2022-23 campaign due to injury.

His future at Leipzig is also up in the air as he is about the enter the final year of his contract this June (Transfermarkt).

SportBILD (12/04/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) revealed two weeks ago that Tottenham had reached out to Leipzig regarding a summer deal for the Spaniard.

The report added that the 24-yer-old is ‘leaning more and more’ towards a move away from the Bundesliga club and is ‘considering’ inquiries from Premier League clubs.

If Sky Germany’s latest update is to be believed, we might have clarity on Olmo’s future soon as Leipzig has now submitted their ‘final offer’ to the player.

The publication explains that ‘the contract poker’ is likely to come to an end sooner rather than later, with the Bundesliga club now having offered to raise its salary to match the top earners at the club.

It is asserted that should Olmo reject the latest offer, Leipzig would look to sell him this summer, with €30m (£26.6m) named as a realistic price.

If Olmo does reject this offer, one can expect plenty of clubs to join the queue for his signature as it is not often that players of the Spaniard’s quality are available for such a low price.

Tottenham certainly needs an attacking midfielder.

If Spurs do appoint Nagelsmann, the German could prove decisive in the negotiations, having worked with the midfielder at the Red Bull Arena.

‘I was eight’ – 21-year-old admits current Spurs star is his football role model

Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has revealed that he idolizes Tottenham legend Hugo Lloris.

Chevalier has won many admirers since breaking into Lille’s first team earlier this season, having managed eight clean sheets in 26 Ligue 1 matches and only conceded 27 goals in those games (Transfermarkt).

The youngster was called up to France’s U21 set-up back in November, making his debut in the 1-1 draw with Norway and he might not be a long way off winning a senior cap, particularly with Lloris having hung up his gloves.

Tottenham themselves are reportedly on the lookout for a long-term successor to their captain, with Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, Brentford’s David Raya, Brighton stopper Robert Sanchez and AC Milan’s Mike Maignan at the top of the North London club’s wishlist (Football. London)

Chevalier has not been mooted as a target for Spurs but the 21-year-old is thought to be on the radars of both Newcastle and Fulham ahead of the summer transfer window (Corriere dello Sport).

Based on the goalkeeper’s latest revelation, he might perhaps jump at the chance to follow his idol’s footsteps to North London.

When asked about Lloris, the Lille number one told Europe 1: “When I was eight, nine or ten years old, when I started in goal, he was starting to break through at Nice and then at Olympique Lyonnais. He’s my model.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Chevalier has shown plenty of promise at Lille this season but he would have to maintain his form for another 12 months at least before he attracts the attention of elite clubs.

Tottenham would certainly want a goalkeeper with a bit more experience to take over from Lloris.
