We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...

Gianluca Scamacca will certainly not be back in action this season for West Ham and is unlikely to return before July, claims Dr. Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert reacted to the news that the Italian may be out for two months, which would see him back in June for pre-season training and matches.

However, he believes that the Italian is likely to be out until July with the club delaying the decision to undergo surgery.

Scamacca had been ruled out for a few weeks before the Hammers opted to go ahead with the operating, thus ending his season in the bargain.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “Scammaca underwent surgery on a tear in his lateral meniscus and will miss two to three months which aligns with a meniscus repair, but I would lean more towards the three months.

The evolution of his plan of care from “wait and see” to surgery aligns with a meniscus injury as in certain cases physio can help calm the injury down and allow the player to play.

The Italian has not enjoyed the first season he would have hoped for in the Premier League after a 16-goal campaign at Sassuolo in 2022/23.

Due to injuries and David Moyes’ team selection, the 24-year-old just started 11 league games and found the back of the net on three occasions.

Michail Antonio, on the other hand, has been Moyes’ preferred option to lead the line, making 17 Premier League starts and 12 more appearances off the bench compared to Scamacca’s five.

West Ham transfer news: Bad news for Hammers with ‘incredible’ 27-year-old reportedly intrigued by chance to join AC Milan.

According to a report from 90 Min, Chelsea ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek is keen to join AC Milan in the summer transfer window, in spite of the interest in his services from West Ham.

That is obviously a big blow for the Hammers, with David Moyes thought to be keen to bring the 27-year-old Chelsea star to the London Stadium at the end of the season.

Moyes desperately needs to bolster his central midfield ranks at West Ham in the summer window, and Loftus-Cheek would have been the ideal signing for us as far as I’m concerned.

AC Milan seems to be the clear favorite for the 10-capped England international’s signature though…

West Ham transfer news: Loftus-Cheek pursuit hits problems

90 Min reckons that the 27-year-old is keen for a reunion with Fikayo Tomori at the San Siro this summer.

The former Chelsea center-back has apparently spoken very highly indeed about Milan when Loftus-Cheek asked him what life is like with the Rossoneri.

That’s a real shame for West Ham. Loftus-Cheek’s power, energy, dynamism, and versatility would have taken us to a whole new level next season in my opinion.

The Englishman is a supremely talented central midfielder, and I think everyone will see the best of him when he is given regular game-time away from Chelsea.

Described by The Sun as an incredible player, the 27-year-old Chelsea ace would be a superb signing for West Ham.

However, AC Milan’s interest and Loftus-Cheek’s reported excitement at the idea of joining the Italian giants means that the Hammers will have our work cut out.

Let’s hope that we make the Chelsea star an offer that he can’t refuse. He would be such a strong addition to us in the summer transfer window. With plenty of West Ham transfer news already floating about, this is one that I think we should all be keeping an eye on the closest.
